As you are probably aware the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child has now been adopted. The Strategy identifies many areas where work is needed but there are grounds for optimism that this will make a positive contribution to the rights and situations of many children, including children in migration, throughout the Member States. We are particularly pleased to see a reference at page 15 of the Strategy to EGN – The European Commission invites Member States to strengthen guardianship systems for all unaccompanied children, including through participation to the activities of the European Guardianship Network. We welcome this endorsement and look forward to delivering on the areas identified in our workplan. You can read the strategy at
