IOM is part of the United Nations system, as a related organization.
With 175 Member States and offices in 171 countries, IOM works with governments, migrants and partners to promote safe, orderly and regular migration, save lives and protect people on the move, address displacement, and facilitate regular migration pathways.
Guided by the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, IOM places respect for the rights, dignity and well-being of migrants at the centre of its work.
