The Directorate General for Child and Adolescent Care (DGAIA) is the institution responsible for the policies of children and adolescents in Catalonia. It promotes and coordinates the policies for the participation of children and adolescents, protection and care of children and adolescents in a situation of risk or neglect, and the socio-labor integration of young people under guardianship and ex-guardians in the process of emancipation, in order to ensure maximum achievement of their development and well-being.
